FOR YOUR INFORMATION - in conjunction with the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions Valid From 01 April 2011
RENTAL CHARGES: $5.00 Per Day Rentals on the same island are 3 days. Rentals that cross islands are 4 days Kilometre allowance is detailed in the table below. Kilometres travelled in excess of the allowance will be charged at 28 cents per kilometre.
ADDITIONAL HIRE DAYS: Requests for extra days must be made at least 24 hours prior to the expected return date. Additional days are subject to availability and with a maximum of 7 days in total for relocation hires. The extra day rate will be based on current standard rates and must be paid by credit card immediately. Where a customer is paying for extension days, they receive unlimited free kilometres. No refund is available for unused days.
FUEL/LPG: Fuel costs are the renters own. The vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel and therenter is required to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. Failure to do so will result in additionalcharges. thl welcome you to share fuel expenses with your fellow travellers; however, it is illegal tocharge them a fare. thl may offer a fuel allowance to a relocation booking. If a fuel allowance has beenoffered, no monies will be refunded without GST receipts. Campervans are supplied with a full LPGbottle for the purposes of cooking and heating hot water. The renter is required to return the vehicle witha full LPG bottle. Failure to do so will result in additional charges.RUCRF: If you are relocating a diesel vehicle a Road User Charge Recovery Fee (formerly namedDTR) will apply, based on the number of kilometres travelled and is paid by the renter when the vehicleis returned. We reserves the right to amend the Road User Charge Recovery Fee in response tochanges in Government Road User Charges. The current RUCRF costs can be obtained from youCustomer Service Representative.
DRIVERS LICENCE: A current and full motor vehicle driver’s licence is required and must be producedon vehicle collection. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English, it must beaccompanied by a current international driving permit.
RENTAL DURATION: Campervan rental days are calculated per calendar day. Car rental days arecalculated on a 24-hour basis.
PAYMENT: Cash, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard and Amex* only will be accepted for rental andprotection package charges. Please note that We do not take any responsibility for any currencyfluctuations in exchange rates. A 2% credit card surcharge applies to all Visa and MasterCardtransactions and a 4.5% credit card surcharge applies to all Amex transactions. *Amex is not acceptedfor Backpacker and Explore More relocations.
VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT: $800 payable by CREDIT CARD ONLY (No Cash or EFTPOS bondpermitted) and all rental costs are payable at time of booking. The Vehicle Security Deposit will becredited back at the end of the rental providing the vehicle is returned on time, undamaged and withthe fuel tank and gas bottle full. A $220 cleaning fee will be charged if the vehicle is returned in a dirtycondition (this includes smoking related cleaning as smoking is not permitted in the vehicle). A fee of$125 will also be charged if the toilet and wastewater tank have not been emptied.
FOR YOUR PROTECTION: All vehicles are insured for damage to the vehicle or to the property of aThird Party. The hirer is responsible for the first NZD$800 of each claim. The liability is applicableregardless of who is at fault and applies in respect of each claim, not per rental.Liability Reduction Option: $12 p/day you can reduce the liability to $400 per claimExclusions do apply. Please read the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions carefully.
VEHICLE DROP OFF (SAME ISLAND): Return time on the final day is 1200 hours. A late fee ofNZD$150 will be charged for vehicles returned after 1200 hours. Vehicles not returned to theirdestination by 1600 hours will incur an additional charge of NZD$550.
VEHICLE DROP OFF (CROSS ISLAND): Return time on the final day is 1500 hours. A late fee ofNZD$150 will be charged for vehicles returned after 1500 hours. Vehicles not returned to theirdestination by 1600 hours will incur an additional charge of NZD$550.
ONEWAY AND LOCATION FEES: One Way fees and Location fees do NOT apply to relocationbookings.
ACCIDENTS: Must be reported to us within 24hours if the event. An accident report must be completedon return of the vehicle.
MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN: In the event of a breakdown you may spend up to $200 for minorrepairs or oil. Receipts must be presented for reimbursement. For larger repairs, please phone usfor authorisation. We are not liable for any incidental costs (accommodation, transportation) incurred bythe renter and passengers as a result of a breakdown or accident. In the case of a serious breakdown,we will however endeavour to assist where possible.
FERRY CROSSING: A ferry booking must be made at the time of booking/pick up if the vehicle is tocross between the North and South Islands. Where a free ferry is included, we reserve the right tochoose an off peak sailing. Any amendments to the ferry booking will be charged an amendment fee ofNZD$25 per change. If the customer fails to cross at their booked time, they will be required to rebookand pay at their own cost with no refund available. If customer fails to collect the relocation vehiclewithout prior notification to us any cancellation fees applicable to the ferry crossing will be charged tothe customer in addition to the cancellation fee applicable to the rental.
Note that we will pay for the ferry crossing cost for the vehicle only. The driver and passengercosts are the renters own.
BREACH OF CONTRACT: Please read your Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions very carefullyand ensure that all points are clear before signing. Your signature binds you to our RentalAgreement Terms and Conditions. Should there be any variance between our Rental AgreementTerms and Conditions and this ‘For Your Information’ document, this document will supersede thestandard conditions.
CANCELLATION FEES: There is a $50.00 fee payable to us for any relocation that is cancelled onceconfirmed or not collected on the due date. If customer has booked the relocation hire via an agent,different cancellation fees may apply. For details customer should contact their agent.
SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY: Relocations are subject to availability and business needs. We reservesthe right to cancel a relocation booking if there is no longer a need to relocate the vehicle. Should thevehicle booked be unavailable, the right is reserved to substitute another vehicle without priornotification. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to a refund.
