About the Journey

The 600 mile trip from Auckland to Christchurch takes around 15 hours to complete, and involves crossing from the North Island to the South Island. This means taking a ferry across the Cook Strait. This crossing from Wellington to Picton has been called one of the most beautiful in the world, offers travellers spectacular views of the Kaikoura Ranges and Oteranga Bay.
